Our client is looking to appoint a Purchasing Assistant to join their busy Purchasing Team. This is a newly created position to support the busy procurement and stores teams.
This is a great opportunity for a Purchasing Assistant, Assistant Buyer, Expeditor to join an established team and develop their skills and knowledge.
Responsibilities of the role:
* Place and track purchase orders ensuring timely delivery to meet manufacturing schedules
* Build relationships with suppliers to deliver savings and OTD
* Review Open Order Books
* Liaise with suppliers to pro-actively progress open orders
* Updating and maintaining the ERP systems
* Monitoring inventory levels and highlight material shortages
* Support the Purchasing Team with Ad Hoc requirements
Experience and knowledge of the role:
* Experience working in a purchasing or supply chain role within a manufacturing environment
* Experience using ERP/MRP system
* Excellent organisational and time management skills
* Strong understanding of MS Office
* Self-motivated with a can-do positive attitude. Team Player
* Supply Chain Degree or equivalent is desirable but not essential
