Work
As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.
What you’ll do at work
We’re seeking an individual who has a passion for the well-being of animals and enjoys spending time with dogs in a fun and friendly environment. The right candidate will be confident with all dogs.
Daily Tasks:
* greeting dogs as they arrive
* entertaining dogs in a safe and engaging way
* keeping things tidy & clean,
* supporting other staff in getting activities ready
* doing training with a group of dogs.
* help provide a stimulating and safe environment for all dogs
* supervise dogs & be vigilant of their well being
* monitoring of dogs behaviour and welfare
* working as a team

The apprentice will be working to build a portfolio of evidence and will be required to pass a knowledge test and an End Point Assessment (EPA) to complete the Level 2 Animal Care and Welfare apprenticeship.
All training will take place at the work location and the applicant will complete an animal care apprenticeship in full.

Other requirements
Due to the hours and location, it is essential you have access to transport to arrive to work on time We can work long shifts which are very tiring, running around after and playing with dogs all day is physically tiring. We work inside and outside in all weathers and temperatures It is not enough to state you love dogs and want to play with them all day, this job is a lot more than that. You will be on your feet all day, cleaning up mess, helping manage and control a large pack, providing basic training and mental stimulation to all the dogs throughout the day and completing all duties and checks needed everyday. Talking to customers is a part of this role where you will need to be professional and well presented to represent the company.
