As a Graduate Mechanical Engineer, you will be an integral part of our client's engineering team, contributing to both design and manufacturing processes. This role is perfect for a recent graduate who is passionate about mechanical engineering and eager to apply their academic knowledge in a real-world environment. You will have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects, from conceptual design through to manufacturing and production, gaining valuable experience across different stages of the engineering process.
Key Responsibilities:
Design Engineering:
* Assist in the development of innovative mechanical designs for new products and components.
* Create detailed 3D models and engineering drawings using CAD software.
* Collaborate with senior design engineers to develop prototypes and test solutions.
* Perform design analysis, including stress and strain calculations, to ensure product integrity.
* Support the R&D team in the development of new technologies and materials.
Manufacturing Engineering:
* Work closely with the manufacturing team to ensure designs are optimised for production.
* Assist in the development and improvement of manufacturing processes, including tooling design and process flow.
* Participate in process improvement initiatives aimed at reducing costs, improving quality, and increasing efficiency.
* Support the implementation of Lean Manufacturing principles across production lines.
* Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues that arise during the manufacturing process.
Skills & Qualifications:
* degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
* Strong proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD).
* Basic understanding of manufacturing processes and materials.
* Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
* Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
* Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
* A proactive attitude and eagerness to learn and grow within the company.
Desirable:
* Previous internship or placement experience in a mechanical or manufacturing engineering role.
* Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles.
* Familiarity with industry standards and regulations.
