Due to our continued success, we are looking for a Group Health and Safety Officer to join our Brigade family. We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Health, Safety, and Environmental Specialist to take charge of our organisation’s safety framework and compliance. This is a hands-on, dynamic role with the opportunity to lead key initiatives, influence company policies, and drive positive change across our subsidiaries and EU warehouse facilities. Key Responsibilities: Serve as the go-to safety expert, advising and ensuring regulatory compliance while enforcing preventive measures. Conduct safety tours, inspections, audits, and engagement forums to uphold health and safety standards. Regularly test fire alarms, evacuation procedures, emergency lighting, and maintain fire safety equipment and systems. Deliver H&S inductions for new joiners and contractors and assess ongoing training needs across the organization. Support contractor RAMS reviews, manage the COSHH register, and ensure comprehensive risk assessments. Lead investigations, monitor safety performance, and provide actionable insights via KPI dashboards. Drive the company’s sustainability strategy and ensure compliance with ESOS and ISO 50001 standards. Craft and update policies to reflect current industry standards and best practices. Oversee first aiders and fire marshals, ensuring proper training and equipment maintenance. What We’re Looking For: Proven experience in a similar role, with a hands-on approach to safety and environmental management. Relevant qualifications in Occupational Health and Safety (NEBOSH, IOSH, or equivalent). Additional qualifications in environmental management (IEMA) are desirable. Familiarity with Continuous Improvement methodologies (e.g., 5S, Kaizen). Strong knowledge of PUWER, risk assessments, and accident investigation. Excellent organizational, communication, and decision-making skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and a knack for detailed reporting. Flexibility to travel internationally with a valid passport (additional European languages are a plus).
