Duties:
* To assist in the support and inclusion of students with SEMH and SEND.
* To support the development of students' emotional literacy and social skills through specific and targeted intervention.
* To support students' academic and social communication needs and to support positive social and emotional well-being, enabling them to engage in learning in and out of the college environment.
Skills/Experience:
* Experience of supporting students/young people with specific additional needs.
* Proven experience of dealing with behavioural issues and having the resilience required to deal with these challenging situations effectively.
* Understanding of SEND Code of practice.
* Ability to build trusting relationships with students, their parents/carers, and other stakeholders.
* Ability to work calmly under pressure and ensure that deadlines are met whilst maintaining a positive and optimistic attitude.
Qualifications:
* Minimum GCSE grade 4 / C in English & Maths or equivalent.
* Level 3 qualification or higher in a learning difficulties/disabilities related qualification.
