This post was established 3+ years ago and is designed to be flexible. It would suit someone wishing to create anF3 type year. The (1 in 6) night commitment of the job is towards the Trust’s Hospital Out Of Hours Team (HOOH). The rest of the contracted time can be in a range of specialities within the trust of the candidate’s choosing. This could be undertaken on a rotational basis of 4-6 months. For example General Surgery, Orthopaedics & Urology could form 1 rotation. There are also opportunities to undertake various Medical Specialities.
The successful applicant will be supported with professional examinations & will be offered a flexible timetable that allows adequate personal study time. You will receive supervision, access to an Eportfolio & be encouraged to join the established regional teaching programmes.
This is a replacement post for someone who is leaving the post mid rotation therefore we can offer this post as either a 6 month fixed term contract until August 2025 or an 18 month contract until August 2026.

• Attend/participate at cardiac arrest calls as part of the resuscitation team.
• Work with other members of the HOOH team to share tasks and cross cover as appropriate.
• Communicate continuously to ensure other members of the team are aware of the current position throughout the trust.
• Refer appropriately to Surgical or Medical Registrar linked to the HOOH team.
• Support the F1 trainees attached to the HOOH team.
• Support the activity on the Private Patient Unit if requested.
The rota for the post will follow the provisional timetable shown below which includes prospective cover.
Essentially: Monday – Thursday night in week 1 and Friday-Sunday night in week 3 both covering HOOH. The rest of the time are standard days in the pre-agreed areas of the candidates choosing with 1 ‘long day’ in week 6.

The post holder will have the opportunity to be involved in one of the many quick turnaround clinical research projects and the new style of Quality Improvement projects within The Trust or even regionally.
