Social Value Advisor
Location: Leicester
Salary: £30,000 - £40,000 plus package
Summary
An industry leading European supplier for railway electrification is looking to recruit a Social Value Advisor to join their Environment team.
Based in either Derby or Leicester, you will help to develop, manage, implement, and coordinate social economic benefits to the local communities to meet business and customer requirements.
Responsibilities Include:
1. Leading Network Rail community relations events, liaising with the project community liaison team in managing stakeholder communications and community investment opportunities.
2. Ensuring all works assigned by the Head of Environment and Sustainability are completed in a timely manner.
3. Planning community events, STEM Ambassador events, etc.
4. Identifying opportunities for innovation and best practice, and documenting achievements as sustainability case studies.
5. Community Engagement & Social Value across the regional businesses.
6. Promoting social value and ensuring all regionally based staff understand the social value policy and strategy.
7. Developing a bespoke social value response for each tender bid as required.
8. Assisting HR with Employment and Skills delivery focusing on employment, education, communities, and communication.
9. Providing adequate and relevant support to site teams to deliver contractual commitments and added social value, including engaging with the local voluntary sector, charity organizations, and EBPs.
10. Working in partnership with our procurement teams to improve our approach to working with SMEs and Social Enterprises.
11. Ensuring effective SV communication methods are in place for the regions (newsletter, social media, emails).
12. Attending relevant industry events.
13. Organizational contact for Partner Organizations, Charities, and Voluntary Organizations.
14. Complying with company policy and procedure.
15. Following the company's Equalities policies in relation to other staff, customers, and members of the Group.
16. Working as part of Project teams with the Project Managers to deliver monthly reports and meet contractual obligations.
Seeking someone with:
1. A minimum of 2 years' experience delivering social value elements within rail, construction, civil engineering, or training/skills background.
2. Knowledge of the Social Value Act (2012).
3. Understanding of Social Value measures such as TOMS.
4. Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office.
5. The ability to network and communicate in a friendly and effective manner with internal and external stakeholders.
6. Ability to work and interface with internal and external stakeholders.
7. Excellent presentation skills.
8. Excellent spoken and written English.
9. Ability to drive and travel as required for the role.
