A new residential home, based in Solihull, is on the lookout for a new registered manager for their 3 bed EBD Children's Home. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and skilful individual to lead an ambitious team and oversee the day-to-day running of the children's home. This role is 37 hours a week on Mon-Fri with occasional on-call shifts and is a temporary contract with the potential for extending the assignment.
What you'll need to succeed:
1. Previous significant experience within the last 5 years as a Registered Manager in a children's residential home.
2. Experience working within a DoLs environment.
3. Obtained Level 5 qualification in Leadership and Management for Residential Care.
4. Good knowledge and understanding of legislation and regulations in-line with the Children's Homes Regulations 2015 and the Quality Standards for Children's Homes.
5. Understand the main responsibilities of a Registered Manager.
6. Enhanced DBS on the update service with the children's barred list requested.
Day-to-day responsibilities:
1. Provide high quality care services to support all children and young people living in the home.
2. Ensure all service users have individual care plans which have been carefully developed in order to meet their needs and to ensure person-centred care.
3. Ensure the safeguarding, individual rights, and equality amongst the service users.
4. Manage, supervise, and assist staff members in the professional development of the home regarding policies and procedures being followed, completed training, and risk assessments being up to date.
5. Monitor performance and promote the personal development of staff members through regular appraisal meetings.
6. Liaise with healthcare professionals and build relationships with the parents/ carers and other family members of the service users.
7. Manage any ongoing finances and budgets.
