Reporting to the Group Head of Corporate Affairs, the Group Communications Manager would act as the Deputy for the Head of Group Communications. his is an exciting opportunity to join a high-performing, recently established Group Corporate Affairs team, working closely with the Group Executive team, communications colleagues across the Group and with other business areas including marketing, investor relations and human resources. This is a remote position with the occasional travel to Cardiff & London when required. Main Duties
* Support the delivery of corporate announcements including financial results, M&A and Board changes and create relevant Q&A documents and scripts
* Draft proactive and reactive reputational risk management strategies and positions to promote and protect the reputation of the Group and its local businesses
* Support with the provision of strategic reputation management advice and support to the brands, functions and markets through reactive and proactive issues handling
* Monitor the external media and political landscape to identify and act on emerging trends, issues and opportunities and collaborate with the wider team to deliver 360 communication campaigns as appropriate
* Prepare Admiral Group spokespeople for media briefings and other external engagements
* Execute communication activity on the Group's sustainability programme amplifying our approach to people, products, planet and investments
* Arrange external engagement training sessions for Admiral Group spokespeople
* Develop relationships with relevant journalists, key policymakers, trade and consumer bodies
* Build and maintain a strong network of internal contacts across our operations in Canada, France, India, Italy, Spain, the UK and the US.
Communications experience across corporate communications, issues/crisis communications, media relations or government relations
* Exceptional and flexible written and oral communication skills
* Strong judgement and understanding of the internal and external landscape and an ability to bring the outside in
* Experience of working in-house for a listed business or experience advising listed clients
* Financial services experience would be a bonus
* Calm under pressure and discretion when dealing with confidential matters
* Ability to manage multiple deadlines, often under time pressure, while maintaining high standards and attention to detail
* Comfortable working in cross functional, multi-disciplinary teams and navigating an international organisation
* Knowledge of social media and some experience of working with social media teams
* Cultural sensitivity and resilience
* Must be fluent in English; other European languages a bonus.
