QA Engineer Mechanical

Main Responsibilities
* The role is 80% Quality assurance (LTQR compilation and review) and 20% project facing (inspection, walk rounds, tool box talks)
* Perform a wide range of QA Engineering tasks to include but not limited to the following:
* Prepare and review Inspection and Test Plans and supporting Quality documentation.
* Provide Quality related technical support for projects
* Review vendor/supplier Inspection and Test Plans
* Liaise with Mechanical Completions and Commissioning Engineers, Project Engineers and Construction Operatives in relation to compilation of LTQR's (Life Time Quality Records) and SIS (System Information Sheets) pack.
* Co-ordinate and advise guidance on welding (pipework) Quality requirements
* Liaise with 3rd party Mechanical inspectors and co-ordinate the Inspection function.
* Raise Continuous Improvement Forms (CIFs) as appropriate and liaise with Client's QA departments
* Ensure all quality documentation/records are maintained within the Company's Business Management System
* Ensure quality performance monitoring is maintained and reviewed accordingly against KPIs
* Contribute to the improvement and technical capabilities of the Company
* Quality Auditing - Internal & External with supplier auditing experience desirable
* Support existing, strong workshop HSE Culture
• Populating/review lifetime quality records (LTQR's) and documentation in accordance with client requirements.
• Efficiently co-ordinate and manage document workflow between departments, vendors and client.
• Populating/reviewing Inspection Test Plans (ITP's)
• Prepare and review fabrication packs.
• Review Vendor ITP's and quality documentation.
• Managing/Review MCC & RFC documentation.
• Co-ordination of welder qualification approvals and welding procedure qualification compliance.
• Co-ordinate NDT inspection planning and scheduling.
• Verification of NDT (RI, MPI, MPI) reports.
• Co-ordinate and advise guidance on material certification, welding, NDT and other Quality requirements as dictated by piping specification, client specification and industry standards and codes
• Inspection of fabricated products in accordance with approved quality procedures and specifications.
Experience & Qualifications
* Mechanical knowledge
* Good Engineering and QA/QC background
* Knowledge and experience in Quality Management Systems
* Understanding of and familiarity with standards and specifications
* Computer literate; knowledge of Microsoft Office suite essential
* Good communication and report writing skills
* +3 Years' experience working in a highly regulated industry (Nuclear/Oil & Gas/Aviation/ Construction)
* Demonstrable and current experience in ITP and LTQR production, compilation and review.
QA Mechanical Engineer / Welding Inspector
Qualifications:
* Current CSWIP Level 2 (3.1 minimum) Welding Inspection (Essential)
* Recognised Internal/ Lead Auditor qualification (Desirable)
* Member of Professional Engineering Institute (Desirable)
* Member of Chartered Quality Institute (Desirable)
* Current PCN L2 Dye Pen (Desirable)
* Current PCN L2 MPI (Desirable)
* Current PCN L2 RT/Radiographic Interpretation (Desirable)
* Current security clearance (SC) (Desirable)
* Current CSCS card (Essential)
