The Role

We have a fantastic opportunity for highly motivated and energetic individual to join Tameside Council as the Principal Social Worker- Head of Safeguarding, Quality and Practice in ASC. As a key member of the ASC Senior Leadership team you will hold the function of Principal Social Worker for Adults and be responsible for delivering the associated statutory functions, also leading on CQC preparation and assurance.
You will lead the adult safeguarding, quality and practice functions in Tameside also overseeing the Local Safeguarding Adults Board, strategic safeguarding, Deprivation of Liberty safeguards, workforce development and practice improvement activity across Adults Services.
About You
We are in search of someone with the skills to influence and enthuse others, challenge the norm and achieve the best outcomes for our residents. You will have proven ability to work collaboratively and collectively across an organisation and with key strategic partners.
You will have extensive post qualification experience in Adults Social Work with knowledge of the Adult Principal Social Worker role and proven ability to take on the functions of this role.
You will drive social care practice across the workforce, providing constructive challenge where appropriate, and enabling practitioners and managers to reflect and learn within a supportive environment.
