Full-Time SEND Teaching Assistant - Maidenhead Long-Term Role | Monday to Friday, 08:30-16:00 We're looking for a passionate and experienced SEND Teaching Assistant to join a specialist school in Maidenhead that supports children and young people aged 5 to 19 with Autism and other complex needs. If you have experience working in SEND or care settings, and you're confident supporting children on a 1:1 basis -this could be the perfect opportunity for you. About the Role: Provide consistent 1:1 and small group support for students with Autism, SEMH, and other additional needs. Use structured strategies including PECS, phonics, and ABA methods to support learning and communication. Work closely with a supportive team of experienced Learning Support Assistants. Be placed in either a primary or secondary class, depending on your skills and the needs of the school. Help students engage with the curriculum, develop social skills, and overcome emotional and behavioural barriers. Track pupil progress and contribute to assessment and evaluation. What We're Looking For: At least one year of experience supporting individuals with SEND, ideally within an educational setting. Understanding of Autism, communication techniques like PECS, and behaviour strategies like ABA. A caring, patient, and proactive approach with excellent interpersonal skills. Strong classroom management and a genuine passion for working with children. Based in Maidenhead or within commutable distance. Must have or be willing to apply for a Child Only Enhanced DBS.
