Our Water consultancy client are seeking a Senior Civil Engineer to join their Leeds office on a permanent basis with hybrid working offered.

You will join our clients' design team in Leeds as part of a multi-disciplinary department providing detailed designs for water related projects in the UK. This role can be worked flexibly with a minimum of 3 days per week in the office and the option of adjusted start and finish times.
Our clients' water teams have a global knowhow of industry leading technologies, and are providing skills and inventive solutions across the full spectrum of lifecycle services in both water engineering and wider water management - working with 7 out of the 12 UK water and sewerage companies in AMP7 and plenty of AMP8 work underway.
Responsibilities
Working on predominantly non-infrastructure projects
Act as a Design Engineer and undertake and check the delivery of design solutions and associated outputs and the co-ordination with other disciplines.
You will provide technical guidance, support and training to colleagues and assist, where practicable, in mentoring and the development of others.
You will be involved in projects from conception to completion including; supporting the Project Manager to clarify the project brief, agree deliverables, key milestones, project methodology, quality assurance and control strategy; establishing project checking and approval arrangements
Managing internal project start-up meetings; undertaking significant elements of the detailed design and the checking of outputs as directed: eg calculations, drawings, sketches, reports etc to achieve the optimum solution for the project
Assessing, documenting and communicating design changes to the Project Manager; being aware of work requirements and taking personal responsibility in delivering this to agreed time, cost and quality requirements
Attending "close out meeting" and recommending/implementing improvements to policy, processes and project management methods.
Involved in business development activities/tenders/managing new and existing client relationshipsSkills/experience/qualifications
Ideally Chartered Engineer status or working towards with a relevant institution eg ICE or CIWEM.
Strong interpersonal/team working skills, with a good working relationship with all levels of the organisation, clients and contractors together with the ability to communicate in a fluent and positive manner both verbally and written.
Comprehensive knowledge and experience of water and wastewater non-infrastructure design including an understanding of the basics and the integration of multidisciplinary elements including process engineering and MEICA.
Extensive experience in design, contract and tender preparation, tender assessment and contract administration.
Degree qualified in civils subject ideal
