What you'll do
We're recruiting for a Financial Accountant to join our Enterprise & Wholesale Financial Operations team at Vodafone UK. This team delivers a large sum of revenue, offering both mobile & fixed services covering 1,500 accounts, including some of the biggest household names across the UK and globally.
As a Financial Accountant, you will work closely with the Finance Operations Manager to ensure accuracy and completeness of monthly revenue results across specific fixed, mobile and interconnect billing bases, including reconciliation of the systems, P&L and balance sheets whilst meeting month end timetable.
Wider responsibilities will also include:
* Assist in the production of service revenue results for the business areas assigned to the role, posting journals to SAP and OLAP when needed.
* Perform analysis of results to ensure completeness and accuracy and explain key drivers to stakeholders.
* Ensure ongoing compliance with existing Sarbanes Oxley (Sox) and Audit control documentation while identifying opportunities for streamlining controls and maintaining an effective control environment.
* Prepare, complete, and submit monthly balance sheets in a timely manner identifying, investigating, and resolving variances.
* Interact with other Finance teams to support explanation of finance results, conveying complex/detailed data transactions to various areas of the business with varying levels of seniority.
* Contribute to delivery of projects, primarily the Heritage Fixed Decommissioning project and other change programmes.
Who you are
* Partly or fully qualified in relevant field of Finance/Accounting (e.g., CIMA, ACA, ACMA, ACCA, or equivalent).
* Core financial accounting and analytical skills, having obtained a knowledge of IFRS.
* Demonstrable experience working to daily, weekly, and monthly deadlines will be essential.
* Excellent communication skills both written and verbal, with a clear track record of translating ideas and information to all levels of seniority.
* Builds relationships within and across departments with a collaborative and consultative mindset.
* Adept in the utilisation of the MS Office suite, particularly Excel.
* Experience in change and process re-engineering an advantage.
* Knowledge of SAP, Access, Business Objects and OLAP an advantage.
