My client is a dynamic and technically diverse team involved in various new-build and refit maritime projects. Due to an increased order-book, they are looking to expand their team with a Project Manager who can mobilize quickly and contribute to our success as we take on exciting new challenges. You will have the opportunity to work in a non-micro-managed environment with flexible working arrangements, supported by a collaborative team.
Role Overview:
The ideal candidate will be an ex-Captain or Chief Engineer with solid technical knowledge, build and refit experience (larger vessels), and an understanding of regulatory codes. You will be highly organized, a clear communicator, and comfortable managing projects from start to finish, often under tight deadlines.
Key Responsibilities:
* Oversee new-build and refit projects from initiation to completion.
* Ensure compliance with regulatory codes and technical standards.
* Write clear and concise reports for stakeholders.
* Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring they stay on time and within budget.
* Liaise regularly with clients, contractors, and suppliers.
* Travel to project sites in Europe as needed, often at short notice.
* Spend regular time at the office in the South of the UK to collaborate with the team.
Key Requirements:
* Ex-Captain or Chief Engineer (Unlimited) with solid build and refit experience.
* Technical Expertise: Strong understanding of technical systems and regulatory codes.
* Communication: Able to write clear, concise reports and communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
* Organizational Skills: Highly organized with the ability to juggle multiple priorities.
* Soft Skills: Diplomatic, professional, well-presented, and values-driven. A sense of humor and team-player attitude are essential.
* Project Management: Previous experience in project management is highly desirable.
* Flexibility: Willingness to travel regularly to Europe, often on short notice.
* Location: (Ideally) based in the South of the UK with regular office presence.
