Technician – Animal Management
£23,607 per annum

We are looking to recruit an experienced Animal Management Technician for our brand-new Animal Management facility. The unit comprises multiple rooms housing a wide range of small mammals, exotic mammals, aquatics, reptiles, herptiles, and insects.
You will be responsible for:
1. Organising and carrying out routine care of our animals and their facilities.
2. Ensuring a high degree of animal welfare.
3. Managing a small team of part-time technicians and creating rotas to maintain cover in the unit.
4. Planning rotas for lecturers to utilise rooms for the requirements of students on various Level 1, 2, and 3 courses along with HNC/HND.
5. Maintaining and ordering stock and equipment.
The successful applicant will have:
1. Previous experience of working with animals and a related qualification.
2. Experience as a technician in a similar setting (preferred).
3. Experience working with small groups of students (advantageous).
4. Expertise in dog grooming and training (desirable, but not essential).
