About the job: Reporting directly to the Sales Director, the Sales Area Manager will identify and pursue opportunities to develop the network and sell components and systems in the Americas (North and South) for the Marine, LNG, Petro Chemical and Industrial Gases market sectors. The Sales Area Manager will be expected to manage the existing sales network (re-sellers) in the Americas territories as well as developing new sale channels to achieve the Company’s growing targets. It will be crucial to build relevant strong relationships in the industry to develop business and track quality prospects. The candidate will be expected to travel frequently in the American continent at least for the first 2 years (as the need arises) to secure business and grow the sales network. Future re-location within one of the existing Trelleborg Group offices in that area will be considered. You will report to the Sales Director. The main office & production facility is based in Westbury, Wiltshire, UK. Responsibilities also include: Identify, develop, manage and maximise sales opportunities. Participate in the preparation and submission of quotation and proposals in conjunction with the colleagues of the customer service. Provide technical support to both customers and work colleagues. Drive sales of the safety couplings business into the main revenue streams: Marine / LNG / Petrochemical in the North and South America. Build and maintain excellent relationships internally, working closely with colleagues to ensure current business performance is optimised, standards of customer service are enhanced, and new opportunities are fully exploited. Regularly liaise with distributors, re-sellers and direct clients to obtain customer satisfaction feedback and ensuring this is acted upon to maintain service delivery levels and/or to make improvements where required. Contribute to the development and implementation of marketing plans. Initiate and coordinate development of action plans to expand into the assigned market area. Take a proactive approach to seeking out knowledge and trends within the industry and building awareness of competitor activity. Provide regular feedback/report to the Sales Director and Senior BDM on strategy/plans, opportunities and performance. Support sales activities by attending trade shows, conferences and other marketing events. Operate to company general requirements in regard to: company policies, objectives and companywide continual improvement. To be able to work in a pressurised environment always maintaining efficiency and accuracy. About the ideal candidate: Education: A bachelor's degree in engineering, or a business discipline is required. Experience: minimum 5 years in similar sales roles. Highly motivated person, willing to grow within an emerging market. Commercial understanding of oil & gas and energy sectors. Knowledge of international markets and flexibility to travel to Americas regularly. Proven business knowledge, strategy and market analysis skills. Ability to communicate on all levels and establish good working relationships in a global marketplace. Excellent salesmanship, good decision making and effective presentation skills. Proficient / fluent in Spanish language (preferred but not essential). Resourceful with strong business ethics, initiative and versatility. Strong team player able to handle independent workload, while coordinating with colleagues. Excellent written, communication and presentation skills.
