Main duties of the job Conduct thorough assessments, diagnoses, and collaboratively create personalised treatment plans with children and their families, ensuring clear communication of complex information in an understandable and supportive manner. Provide tailored advice and interventions, sourcing and training families on the use of specialist equipment for home and school as needed. Work flexibly with children across various settings, including homes, schools, nurseries, and clinics, ensuring equitable care and holistic support. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and external agencies, participating in joint sessions, case conferences, and maintaining regular communication to deliver comprehensive care. Prioritise treatment goals for children, including those with complex needs or terminal illnesses, planning therapy blocks and discharge with appropriate referrals and follow-up. Use manual handling techniques and adapt practices to meet the diverse cultural and linguistic needs of children and their families. Ensure safeguarding protocols are followed, address incidents appropriately, and meet mandatory training requirements. Prepare clear and professional reports for Education, Health, and Care Plans (EHCPs), reviews, and other necessary documentation, supporting educational and therapeutic outcomes.
