Job Purpose:
You will work closely with the Contractor to ensure the quality of the product is in accordance with the Specification and manage all financial matters under the Contract. Your role will also involve engaging with the wider contract administration team to confirm data for the assessment of work done by the Contractor.
Main Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Ensure the Contractor adheres to the Contract Specification Testing & Certification requirements.
2. Promote best practice across the Delivery Team.
3. Observe the Contractor's working operations for compliance with the Specification and oversee the recording of daily ongoing works.
4. Organise and, if necessary, inspect works that will be covered up as part of the permanent works.
5. Agree defective works with the Contractor and record within the site quality systems and CEMAR.
6. Ensure the Contractor closes out Defects within the timescales provided by the Contract.
7. Manage defects not closed out in a timely manner.
8. Observe the on-site health and safety aspects of the Contractor's operations and inform the Project Manager of key risks or areas for improvement.
9. Attend meetings as requested by the Project Manager.
Qualifications & Experience:
1. Experience in the Highway and Bridge sector, including leading supervision and technical teams.
2. Familiarity with the MCHW - Specification for Highway Works.
3. Full driving licence.
4. CSCS Card.
5. Ability to attend site as required.
Desirable:
1. Site Management Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS).
2. Experienced in using CEMAR for recording Defects.
3. NEC4 ECC Supervisor accredited.
Competencies & Behaviours:
1. Ability to liaise confidently with the Contractor on testing technical matters and inspections as required.
2. Proactive approach to the resolution of issues.
3. Ability to liaise confidently with the Contractor on observed unsafe health and safety practices or near misses.
4. Good communication and negotiating skills within a collaborative team environment.
5. Excellent record management skills, including the use of app-based record keeping products.
6. Familiarity and competence in using office software.
Reporting & Communication:
1. The Supervisor will report directly to the Bucks Project Manager as part of the contract administration team.
2. The Supervisor will independently liaise with the Contractor's operational team on a day-to-day basis.
3. The Supervisor will manage inspectors to ensure Contractor quality is maintained.
Working Location:
On-site presence is required for the whole working week for the duration of the works.
