Job Description:
Here at Aspris, we are proud to be a leading provider of specialist education services with over 30 schools nationwide. We are recruiting for a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join us in opening a new school for autistic children and young people (opening September 2025).
At Aspris Ridgeway School, we will empower pupils to reach their full potential in a nurturing and inclusive environment. We strive to inspire confidence, independence, and a lifelong love of learning, ensuring each student thrives both academically and personally.
The purpose of our school is to help prepare young people to make a successful transition into adulthood with the resilience and the necessary skills to live as independently as possible and participate in their local community. We seek to increase achievement and independence to give our students the best possible opportunities to gain employment or access further education and enable them to go on to live the life they choose.
What will Aspris Ridgeway look like?
* Aspris Ridgeway School will be a centre of autism expertise and excellence, educating up to 60 pupils aged 7-19 with identified autism needs and in receipt of an EHCP.
* A welcoming school environment with clearly defined specialist therapy and teaching areas, staffed and resourced to meet individual complex needs.
* A school with strong leadership and governance.
* A provider of opportunities that engage young people in appropriate learning, so they achieve outstanding progress relative to their starting points.
* A provider of a highly individualised, therapeutic based curriculum which prepares pupils with skills for lifelong learning.
We aim to open initially with Y5 and Y6 pupils. We are therefore looking for outstanding primary teachers to join us on this exciting journey.
The successful candidate will be able to:
* Work collaboratively with teachers, adapting and implementing effective strategies to support learning across the curriculum, ensuring progress for all students.
* Lead small group or one-to-one interventions based on the specific needs of students, contributing to raising academic achievement and supporting personal development.
* Collaborate with education and wellbeing teams, taking a proactive role in supporting students’ emotional regulation and engagement, using personalised approaches.
* Maintain positive relationships with students, acting as a role model, and responding to individual needs with empathy and professionalism, fostering a positive learning environment.
* Be an emotionally available adult, providing consistent, compassionate support for children and young people with a range of Special Educational Needs (SEN).
* Take responsibility for the planning, delivery, and assessment of interventions, demonstrating an understanding of the broader educational goals and tracking student progress.
* Support the professional development of other staff members, by sharing expertise and mentoring Teaching Assistants as needed.
Our benefits include:
* Exclusive access to reward and discount scheme.
* Commitment to your ongoing training and career progression.
* Paid for enhanced PVG/DBS.
* Cycle to work scheme and more!
