We have a great opportunity for someone looking to carry out an apprenticeship for veterinary nursing and join our friendly and supportive team at Thompson Veterinary Surgery as a Student Veterinary Nurse.
Location: Sutton-in-Ashfield
Hours: 40 hours per week
Shift Pattern: Monday to Friday between 8:15 am and 7:00 pm and the occasional Saturday

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual who has a positive outlook, an excellent work ethic, team spirit and a passion for animals. The role with be overlooked by our head veterinary nurse and will have support from the whole veterinary team.
You will be involved in all aspects of nursing care whilst carrying out your studies and central skills log (CSL) such as animal handling, nurse clinics, inpatient care before, during and after surgery. You will also be promoting preventative healthcare and performing in house laboratory tests.

11. Excellent customer service skills and experience in dealing with members of the public
12. Experience in animal welfare, including feeding, cleaning, medicating and handling and a high level of understanding of how to meet the welfare needs of animals
13. Resilient with the ability to cope with potentially distressing and emotional situations
14. A positive attitude and excellent teamwork skills
