Job Description
Home Instead is expanding its team and looking for caring, compassionate Care Assistants to help with elderly care and to support adults living at home with a range of needs throughout the local area.
We are looking for applicants who live in Wakefield to assist our clients in the following areas -
Normanton
Featherstone
Crofton
Ackworth
Fitzwilliam
Horbury
Outwood
Care Assistants support clients in the community to live and remain in their own home. Due to the nature of the role in the community you must be willing to travel around Wakefield and commit to working a combination of the following shift times 7am – 2.30pm and 3.45pm – 9.45pm including alternative weekends and bank holidays.
We can offer full time hours 37 hours a week.
You will support clients with:
* Personal care tasks

* Light housekeeping

* General companionship and wellbeing
* Taking clients to medical appointments

Qualifications
* Genuine passion for supporting others and delivering outstanding care
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build professional relationships
* Reliability, trustworthiness, and respect for client confidentiality
* Physical stamina to assist with mobility and personal care tasks
* Patience, empathy, and understanding towards clients' needs and challenges
* Basic literacy and numeracy skills for accurate record-keeping
* Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends
* Willingness to undergo necessary background checks and health screenings
* Valid driving licence and access to a car for travel within the Wakefield area
* Previous experience in a care setting is desirable, but not essential – we value your compassion and willingness to learn
* Ability to work independently and as part of a supportive team
* Commitment to ongoing training and professional development in the care sector
* Care Assistants MUST have a Valid UK Driving Licence (with access to a vehicle for work purposes) and have the Right to work in the UK.
