LICENSING OFFICER £31,586 -£34, 314 per annum (plus essential car user) Full time-37 Hours per week Permanent position Work Base: Buxton and Leek Both Councils are forward thinking and committed to the delivery of a comprehensive and professional Licensing service across the Alliance, through competent, confident and timely processing of licensing related issues. An opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and committed person to join our Licensing Team. The successful candidate will be carrying out a full range of licensing functions including alcohol, taxi and private hire vehicle, late night refreshments, scrap metal dealers. You will need to be able to communicate with the public, applicants, license holders, partner agencies and Members of the Councils in a tactful and confident manner and be able to demonstrate a practical approach to problem solving. You will be expected to work as part of the team at both Councils and on your own initiative. You need to be able to understand licensing law and regulations and will be able to work on your own initiative within statutory timescales, ideally having a relevant Licensing Qualification. You will need to work flexibly as out of hours and night work will be required based on service delivery needs.
