POSITION SUMMARY We are currently seeking a Sr Process Engineer responsible for the design of incineration and waste to energy systems, specifically for fixed hearth, stepped hearth and rotary kilns, encompassing abated and unabated technologies. DO YOU ENJOY COLLABORATING WITH: Other departments and functions across the business Different disciplines in Engineering Customers with difficult problems Engineering members across a geographically global network JOB RESPONSIBILITIES Analysis of project specifications, tender and proposal requirements. Preparation of design basis and philosophy documents focusing on safeguarding, shutdown, relief & blowdown, isolation). Preparation of process deliverables: Process flow diagrams (PFDs), Mass and Energy balances (H&MBs), Firing diagrams. Development and preparation of design/technical specifications. P&IDs development including selection of design conditions, hydraulic analysis, line sizing and pipe specifications. Qualitative and quantitative risk assessments, developing detailed “Hazard and Operability” studies (Process Hazard Assessment (PHA) considered to be a bonus). Technical meetings with multi-discipline team to complete project tasks. Working experience on FEED studies and EPC projects (Experience in waste-to-energy projects considered to be a bonus). Evaluating and developing mechanical and electromechanical systems and products. Designing and conducting research programs; applying specific, relevant engineering principles. Waste profile analysis in considering CV range and desired throughput. Experience with CFD and flow simulation tools (especially Solidworks flow simulation or Ansys Fluent/CFX) Research and development efforts in the exploration of best available technologies and new concepts within emerging “Energy from Waste” markets. Maintaining accurate records and files. QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical/Chemical Engineering or related field. 5 years of previous engineering experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience Strong verbal and written communication skills (including analysis, interpretation, & reasoning). Competent in MS Office Suite, Outlook & Internet applications. Strong analytical, prioritizing, interpersonal, problem-solving, presentation, budgeting, project management (from conception to completion), & planning skills. Solid understanding and application of mathematical concepts. Ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships with peers and colleagues across the organization, as well as internal and external clients. Ability to work well autonomously and within a team in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment. Self-motivated with critical attention to detail, deadlines, and reporting. Routine travel either locally, nationally, and/or internationally may be required.
