PAL fosters cross-year support between students on the same course and encourages them to learn cooperatively with guidance from trained student PAL Leaders. The Central PAL Team are responsible for coordinating the scheme across all Bournemouth University (BU) faculties. As a key member of that team, you will assist the Academic Skills Hub Manager in supporting peer-based initiatives at BU and in the practical administration and promotion of the PAL scheme. You also will contribute to scheme evaluation and research into the impact of the PAL experience. You will be an undergraduate student who has ideally undertaken the role of PAL Leader and will be comfortable working in both face-to-face and virtual environments. You will possess excellent communication and organisational skills, be passionate about what you do and have a driving ambition to succeed. In addition to practical experience of peer support, you will be at ease working on your own initiative as well as being part of a team. You will be keen to develop your research, support and event organisation skills. This position is available on a fixed-term basis for a period of 13 months. This position is available part-time for 29.6 hours per week (0.8 FTE). This position does not meet the eligibility requirements for sponsorship under the Skilled Worker Route within the UK Visa and Immigration service’s Points Based System. Therefore, BU will not be able to sponsor individuals who require permission to work to carry out this position.
