The Director of Business Development, Marketplace will deliver against the strategic roadmap to build a profitable and sustainable commercial multi-brand platform. This role will be primarily responsible for directly managing sales and accounts along with commercial operations and systems
Responsibilities
• Connect, build and maintain relationships with partners Brands, sales and account management, to ensure successful collaboration.
• Manage sales and account management with key Brands in line with our priorities across Brand principles and categories.
• Own and execute the growth strategy to drive brand and active user growth across all sectors across UK ROI and Europe.
• Manage commercial operations and collaborate closely with the internal team to ensure that we seamlessly deliver.
• Identify new market trends and engage with key partners to initiate and secure new business opportunities.
• Represent the business and provide developer insights to continuously improve the range, experience and design.
• Regularly inform the executive leadership team on performance updates and progress against performance indicators and initiatives.
• Research and identify Brands that align with Company values and target market/consumer.
Qualifications
• 15 plus year of experience in senior leadership role in a global retail organization with experience in; online marketplace, platform, content creation, whilst meeting local regulatory obligations.
• Strong knowledge of UK ROI and European Retail market.
• Demonstrated experience in a commercial leadership role with an online marketplace across Retail.
• Experience approaching and engaging with potential partners, at C-suite level and present collaboration opportunities, negotiate terms and handle high stakes decisions.
• Strong understanding of the digital customer journey and ability to positively influence consumer behaviour in a marketplace business model.
• Experienced knowledge of analytical tools for modelling and forecasting.
• Ability to utilize market trends and provide insights, opportunities and make informed decisions relating to ecommerce, driving a positive user experience and optimizing our conversion rates.
• Proven ability to influence and negotiate with partners and work cross functionally to achieve goals, able to thrive on highly collaborative projects whilst navigating through complex scenarios
• Collaborating closely with Marketing, Sales, Merchandising, Finance and e-commerce teams to ensure seamless integration of partner brands on our Clarks website.
