Job Overview
The main purpose of the role is providing support with the delivery of the Group's reporting, monthly consolidated results and certain accounting related matters. The role will also play a key part in assisting ad hoc projects across the Group, including process and control improvement projects and M&A.
The Group Reporting Manager will report to the External Reporting Senior Manager. Across functions, the Group Finance team is responsible for the Group's internal & external reporting, Tax compliance, Treasury management, and the maintenance of the Group's accounting policies & financial internal control environment.
Main Duties
* Supporting in performing contract reviews to ensure compliance with IFRS 15 and providing revenue recognition guidance to divisions. This involves frequent liaison with commercial Finance Business Partner's.
* Supporting with certain accounting related matters at Group, including accounting for IFRS 9 and acquisition accounting, including the valuation of acquired intangibles through business combinations.
* Supporting the half year and year end external reporting process:
o Preparation of financial statement sections of the Annual Report & Accounts and the Interim Financial Statements;
o Supporting the effective management of the external audit process;
o Working closely with Investor relations to ensure factual accuracy of external publications.
* Supporting the monthly reporting and consolidation process:
o Management of the Group intercompany matching process;
o Performing monthly reviews of PPE/Capex divisional submissions to monitor compliance with capitalisation criteria;
o Assistance with preparation and review of the consolidated financial statements.
* Collaborating with other members of Group Finance to support:
o Improvements in the balance sheet reconciliation processes;
o Improvements in the accounting and consolidation processes;
o Other ad-hoc projects, including integration of reporting for newly acquired entities.
* Working alongside the Statutory Reporting Manager to assist with the review of the subsidiary statutory financial statements when required.
What we are looking for
* A qualified chartered accountant with at least 3 years PQE;
* Trained with ‘Big 4' accountancy firm;
* Strong technical accounting skills, including:
o Working knowledge of IFRS, in particular IFRS 15;
o Experience in applying technical accounting standards in a group consolidation context and also in subsidiary financial statements;
* Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively at all levels;
* Strong analytical skills with an ability to provide insight as well as accurate and timely reporting;
* A self-motivated individual who can deliver high quality work to tight reporting deadlines and demonstrate initiative in solving problems;
* Able to work well as part of a team;
* Strong IT skills, especially use of Excel;
* Knowledge of Hyperion Financial Management would be an advantage.
