Job overview
We are looking to recruit Clinical Advisers to join our NHSBSA Dental Clinical Team. This exciting opportunity is home based and will require occasional travel with overnight stays. It’s the perfect opportunity to take the next step in your career whilst supporting the NHS.

You will join the Dental Clinical team, working to identify, assure and monitor risks across NHS dental primary care services. You will work collaboratively with NHSBSA colleagues and external stakeholders including Primary Care Organisations, Providers, Performers, and patients to ensure high quality patient care and claims probity.
You will be able to demonstrate these essential skills and knowledge:
1. Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, including producing written clinical reports
2. Analyse complex clinical data, identify risk and explain complex clinical reports to non-clinicians
3. Deliver presentations
4. Plan and prioritise your own workload and manage conflicting priorities

Main duties of the job
1. Liaison with customers, Primary Care Organisations (PCOs) and others regarding operational and performance issues related to clinical, provider assurance, dental services and information services provided by NHS Business Services Authority (NHSBSA).
2. Contribute to the development and implementation of appropriate NHSBSA customer products and services to support clinical monitoring of primary dental services.
3. Advise and contribute to the development, review and monitoring of dental policy, NHSBSA clinical products and services.
4. Develop and report on metrics that demonstrate the impact of the risk management activities on Primary Dental Services.
5. Provide advice on all clinical matters to NHSBSA external clients and customers and to all sections of the NHSBSA internally.
6. Liaison with Welsh Government (WG) and NHS England (NHSE) to coordinate, implement and report on targeted clinical monitoring and risk management activities provided by the NHSBSA for PCOs.
7. Develop a strong communication network with a range of NHS organisations and internal/external stakeholders to ensure NHSBSA dental activities, appropriate clinical monitoring products and services are developed to meet stakeholder requirements.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
In this role, you are accountable for:
1. Assessing the evolving NHS dentistry environment and networking with key influencers, service providers and service commissioners.
2. Working closely on all dental policy and NHSBSA targeted clinical monitoring matters with the Clinical Team and other Senior Managers of the NHSBSA.
3. Working with a wide range of internal and external customers to identify customers’ requirements and supporting the development of appropriate clinical services and products.
4. Supporting and contributing to reviewing and monitoring the effectiveness of policies, strategies, resource utilisation and procedures.
5. Representing the NHSBSA at meetings with external customers to consider matters relating to dental policy and monitoring of primary dental services.
6. Providing dental policy advice to a range of internal and external stakeholders.
7. Providing clinical opinion and effective analysis and reporting of clinical matters for Information Services.
8. Providing clinical input to the development and implementation of the Risk Management System.
9. Providing clinical input and advice to the NHSBSA Caseworker Team.
10. Meeting with NHSE and PCOs on a regular basis to discuss contracts of concern.
11. Ensuring that information is collected on the outcomes for contracts where extra NHSBSA activity has been provided.
12. Taking responsibility for analysing the information provided to health bodies from the NHSBSA to look for potential risks.
13. Working closely with WG / NHSE and PCOs to report on NHSBSA monitoring activities.
14. Monitoring and reporting to WG / NHSE and PCOs on NHSBSA performance and outcomes against agreed clinical monitoring objectives.
15. Clinical risk management and monitoring activities to include the examination of clinical records and feedback to practitioners.
16. Liaising with Information Services to analyse and assess NHSBSA contract monitoring activities.
17. Deputising for other Clinical Advisers or Senior Clinical Adviser when necessary.

5. Knowledge of Data Protection and Freedom of Information Acts.
Experience requirements:
1. Extensive experience in NHS clinical practice.
2. Willingness to undergo and satisfy the requirements of NHSBSA DS induction course.
