JOB DESCRIPTION Post (s) Work Based Apprenticeship Training Consultant Health & Social Care Ref S11/25 Salary Band 6 SCP 27-30 £37,035 - £39,513 per annum Department Training Organisation Reports to Senior Training Consultant Location Newtownards Campus, however the appointee will be required to be available for work at any of the College sites as required and will require Apprenticeship delivery on employers premises. Hours of work 36 hours per week. The post holder will be required to adopt a flexible approach (including evening work/Saturday work, if required) and to devote such time as may be required by the exigencies of the post. Work Pattern Monday to Thursday, 8.45 am to 5.00 pm and Friday, 8.45 am to 3.30 pm. Hours may vary from time to time to suit the requirements of the post. JOB PURPOSE The post holder will be employed as a Work Based Apprenticeship Training Consultant, working primarily on apprenticeships within SERCs Training Organisation and will deliver and assess the qualifications required for the Apprenticeship NI framework. Reporting to the Senior Training Consultant, the post-holder will deliver on SERCs Apprenticeship strategy by developing relationships with companies and assessing how their training and development needs could benefit through the Apprenticeship NI programme. The job-holder will deliver knowledge and skills transfer through a range of methods such as training, workshop sessions and assessment out in the employer setting. The post-holder will have clear targets to increase the volume of work and income within their area and for ensuring a viable caseload of learners, maximising employer engagement opportunities. MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Develop and maintain relationships with employers to identify training opportunities and ensure a target caseload is achieved and maintained. Design and develop resources for learning in the area of specialism ensuring that technology enhanced learning is used where possible. Visit learners in the workplace to deliver teaching, learning and assessment towards their programme of study. Follow College and Awarding Organisation quality processes. Provide feedback to relevant stakeholders and input progress updates into college systems. Complete documentation on teaching, learning and assessment in line with college systems and awarding body requirements within designated timescales. Manage own caseload to ensure retention and timely achievement in line with SERCs targets. Be familiar with the operational requirements of DFE programmes, other funded projects and commercial training options available to business clients. Record all activity with employers on the relevant College systems. Contribute to and participate in college marketing, recruitment and other appropriate events. Participate in team meetings and case conferences where appropriate. Any other duties as required by the Senior Training Consultant and Head of Training Programmes and Apprenticeships. NOTES 1. Selection Criteria Work Based Apprenticeship Training Consultant Health & Social Care Essential Criteria: Have at least 2 years industrial experience in the Health and Social Care sector. Hold a qualification in the related specialist discipline which is, at least, Level 4 on the National Qualification Framework (NQF revised September 2004) or on the Qualification Credit Framework. Hold GCSE English (Grade A-C) / Essential Skills Level 2 (or higher) in Communication; and GCSE Maths (Grade A-C) / Essential Skills Level 2 (or higher) in Numeracy, or NICATS Access Maths Modules; Hold a recognised Assessor Award: A1, D32, D33, TAQA (CAVA or be willing to work towards this within in 6 months or appointment. Have2 years experience of delivering training within the last 5 years. Demonstrate experience of applying objectives to ensure results are achieved and priorities met. Demonstrate experience of providing training in the chosen area of specialism. Demonstrate a proven ability to work on your own initiative. Have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral. Possess excellent administrative, planning and organisational skills. A current driving licence and access to a car. Desirable Criteria: Hold a teaching qualification. Hold an Internal Quality Assurance qualification: D34, V1, Level 4 TAQA Please note Essential criteria 1-7 & 11 will be used for shortlisting purposes and Desirable Criteria 1 & 2 may be used for shortlisting purposes.
