What skills, knowledge and experience will you need?
* Lead criteria: Customer Experience is a key aspect of this role, and we need someone who knows how to put users first as part of a commitment to user-centred design, and knows how to achieve this amongst competing priorities, including achieving value for the business.
* Setting the direction of the product, rallying the team, owning the vision and roadmap of the product and being that trusted voice.
* Able to draw on insight and expertise to make decisions, often in a time-pressured situation.
* Experience of applying influence and challenging the status quo so you can meet your vision.
* Have experience of mentoring and coaching product people and teams to deliver high-quality products and services.
* Experience of agile methodology, when to use it and when to not, and how you move through the agile lifecycle.

As a Lead Product Manager, you will be at the forefront of designing, building and managing innovative products that connect millions of UK citizens with essential DWP services. Using your expertise and experience, you'll lead, guide, and coach a high-performing team of product managers to success, owning the product roadmap and driving best practice, product excellence, and performance metrics.

Location: You'll join us in one of our brilliant digital hubs in Birmingham, Blackpool, Leeds, Manchester, Newcastle-upon-Tyne, and Sheffield, whichever is most convenient for you.
Hybrid Working: We work a hybrid model - you'll spend some time working at home and some time collaborating face to face in a hub.
Pay: We offer competitive pay of up to 77,740.
Pension: You'll get a brilliant civil service pension with employer contributions worth 28.97%, worth up to 22,466 per year.
Holidays: A generous leave package starting at 26 days rising to 31 days over time. You can also take up to 3 extra days off a month on flexi-time. You'll also get all the usual public holidays.
