The Role
As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will provide solutions, take ownership of delivery, manage and coordinate project interfaces, and communicate between stakeholders.
Day-to-day, you’ll support numerous domains, such as Aircraft Modification and Ship design. Each team that you collaborate with will have unique engineering specialties and focuses.
Your responsibilities will include:
* Leading design activities, including creating hardware solutions, driving technical delivery plans, and chairing design reviews (PDR/CDR).
* Balancing requirements to deliver optimal solutions, articulate risks and assumptions, and support change management.
* Applying advanced CAD tools and technical expertise to design complex systems and components, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
* Collaborating with and supervising multidisciplinary teams, fostering innovation and best practices while driving project success.
* Owning and managing interface coordination, ensuring seamless integration across teams and stakeholders.
Essential experience of the Mechanical Design Engineer:
* You must have Mechanical Design Experience.
* You must have experience with 3D CAD and producing drawings.

This role is 37 hours per week based at Gosport.
Our facilities at the Haslar Marine Technology Park are state-of-the-art, including our ocean basin and rotating arm, and marine towing tank, offering an unparalleled environment for testing and refining designs.
