More than half of Diageo's 27,000 employees are part of Supply Chain and Manufacturing, working together in a complex and dynamic operation driven by collaboration across logistics, manufacturing, and technical expertise. We operate Guinness packaging facilities in Belfast, Northern Ireland, and Runcorn, North West England, where we produce canned, bottled, and kegged products for the UK, Ireland, and international markets. Both locations are undergoing significant investment to further enhance production capabilities. This role is based at our Runcorn site, an 18-acre facility that runs a 24/7 operation with 4 rotational crews. It features 2 bottling lines, 2 canning lines, and 1 kegging production line. With over 90 SKUs and 16 different beer/liquid types, we produce an average of 23 million cases of product annually. About the role? As a Kegging Engineer in our dynamic team at Runcorn, you will play a crucial role in both operations and maintenance within a semi-autonomous, shift-based environment. Your primary responsibility will be to deliver high-quality production services while packaging a variety of beverages, ensuring that we meet customer service levels, maintain quality standards, and operate within budget-all while prioritising safety and professionalism. You will be instrumental in upholding our health and safety compliance standards, monitoring key performance indicators such as quality, hygiene, waste reduction, and efficiency. Your commitment to these areas will be vital in driving continuous improvement and supporting the success of the team. This role operates on a continental shift pattern, including days, nights, and weekends, offering a rewarding and flexible work schedule. Health and safety compliance?is?key, and you'll be at the forefront of making sure this is monitored alongside other KPI's and targets.? About you For this role you will be a time served Electrical or Mechanical Engineer or have obtained a minimum of HNC in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering and SVQ Level 2 & 3 alongside relevant work experience. In addition to this, you will have demonstrable knowledge of Health and Safety legislation and environmental risk. It'd be great if you had a knowledge of working in the manufacturing industry however this is not essential. We're looking for someone who can work well within a team as well as the ability to make effective conclusions and thrive in situations where they can solve problems. You'll be able to push forward your own ideas about improvements to current approaches and appraise new opportunities.
