Provide General Medical Services to acceptable clinical standards to patients, both in surgery and on home visits. Respond to medical problems presented by patients on the medical list, including history taking, examination, diagnosis, investigation, treatment, referral where appropriate and adequate documentation with READ coding onto the GP Computer system. Prioritise, organise and manage own workload in a manner that maintains and promotes quality, including clearing clinical tasks on a daily basis, filing pathology results in a timely manner and re-setting recalls appropriately Provide appropriate health promotion and preventative health care and advice to the Practice patients attending the centre within the context of primary health care. Attend all team meetings and other meetings as may be necessary for GMS duties. Carry out clinically related administrative and non-clinical duties needed for the delivery of general medical services. Provide free certification in line with Schedule 9 of NHS GMS Regulations (1992). Provide emergency cover for absent colleagues from time to time as detailed. Undertake on-call duties for clinically urgent and emergency problems and consequently be included in the doctors on-call and extended access rota. Maintain patient clinical records in line with the electronic patient record system. Assess effectiveness of care delivery through self and peer review, benchmarking and formal evaluation including appraisal/revalidation process
