About The Role
This is a great opportunity for an experienced Investigations Officer looking for a new challenge, to work within the Parking Operations team.
The postholder will be responsible for investigating and preparing responses for complaints, Freedom of Information requests, Councillor and MP enquiries and any other complex correspondence relating to all aspects of Parking Operations and any other associated services.
The postholder will report directly to a Team Leader within the team.
About The Team You’ll Be Working In
1. Parking Operations has a statutory duty to enforce parking restrictions on the borough’s roads and car parks under legislation set out within the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (RTRA), Road Traffic Act 1991 (RTA) and the Traffic Management Act 2004 (TMA).
2. Our aim is to reduce traffic congestion, improve road safety and local air quality; and maintain the provision of parking spaces for permit holders whilst improving accessibility for all road users - especially those with disabilities.
3. The postholder will provide information, support and advice in accordance with legislative requirements, policies and procedures as required. They will work closely with key stakeholders, Councillors and residents, and engage with other teams across the Council.
4. They will act as a key account holder for Parking Operations complaints, providing the highest standard of professional communications, engagement, advice and support to service leads, Councillors, and residents. While ensuring all case work is dealt with in accordance with identified timeframes making certain all responses are communicated to the customer in a clear and concise manner.
About You
We are looking for someone who has:
* Excellent interpersonal skills, to form positive relationships with Stakeholders, Councillors and residents.
* Exceptional written, presentation and engagement skills for a wide range of audiences.
* Meticulous organisational skills including good attention to detail, the ability to prioritise a busy workload and deliver work within the agreed timeframes.
* Good knowledge of Microsoft 365 (Teams, Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint).
* To be able to work effectively as part of the Traffic and Parking section, delivering corporate objectives and priorities through the work of the department.
