An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the QVH safeguarding team to provide expert Adult Safeguarding and Mental Capacity Act (MCA) professional advice to patients, carers and colleagues.
You will be establishing and leading on the interpretation of national legislation and guidance, plus the development of trust wide policy, guidance, protocols and standards.
You will lead and undertake research and audit in adult safeguarding and MCA areas of practice.
Providing adult safeguarding and MCA education and training to all QVH staff, students, and volunteers. Ensures the maintenance of clinical excellence.

Main duties of the job:
* To provide and receive highly complex safeguarding and MCA, sensitive or contentious information.
* To be responsible for safeguarding and MCA resources available to QVH staff electronically and in paper formats.
* Support and advise the QVH board regarding safeguarding adults and MCA responsibilities and accountability, ensuring that expert advice is available to all specialties.
* Participates in multi-agency West Sussex Safeguarding Adults Board, committees and Sussex NHS professionals groups.

Essential:
* Registered nurse (adult) or Registered Nurse and Registered Health Visitor/Specialist Community Public Health Nurse
* Educated to Degree Level with additional specialist training to masters level equivalent
Desirable:
* Master's Degree

* Experience of multi-agency working
* Experience of working in an acute hospital setting and/or community setting with adults
