Supply Chain Engineer - High Wycombe
Pertemps Aylesbury is currently recruiting for an experienced Supply Chain Engineer for our Electrical manufacturing client based in High Wycombe.
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Supply Chain Engineer to ensure there are no barriers with Electronic Manufacturers and suppliers, shipping products on time and in full, to cost, whilst maintaining product quality standards.
Location: High Wycombe
Salary: £45,000 - £50,000
Hours: 7:30am - 3:30pm
Duties:
Product Development:
1. Manage product/accessories from prototype through to manufacturing and configuration.
2. Ensure that the product design is vigorously reviewed to achieve DFM, DFT, and service requirements to realise optimum product cost upon release.
3. Control purchase of manufacturing and test-related fixtures.
Product Maintenance:
1. Day-to-day management of the clients and other key suppliers.
2. Manage the change/concession system from design to our manufacturers.
3. Update production/service test specifications as & when required.
4. Ensure products meet compliance requirements, e.g., RoHS/Li-Ion labeling/conflict minerals.
5. Manage production test equipment at CEM's & service centres to ensure no downtime.
6. Support service - testing, service price lists, spares, etc.
7. Support UK & US warehouses when products require configuration, updates to stock, etc.
8. To achieve year-on-year COGS reductions in line with company targets.
9. To monitor, analyse and continuously improve quality (through KPIs).
Supply Management:
1. Manage suppliers for any part obsolescence, source replacements as appropriate, perform last-time buys.
2. Maintain control of worldwide obsolete, slow-moving, or last-time buy component stock.
3. Identify potential single source component weaknesses - both for price & availability.
4. Perform and maintain supplier audits.
Requirements:
1. Excellent organisational and complex problem-solving skills.
2. Strong verbal and written communication skills.
3. Adaptable, positive, detail-orientated, and enthusiastic individual.
4. Ability to work effectively within a team and multi-task effectively, holding a positive 'can do' attitude.
5. Experience of process improvement/LEAN principles/Six Sigma and 80/20 etc.
6. An understanding of circuit schematics & debug methods.
7. Experience working within a Quality Management environment.
