Methods are looking to speak with experienced Android Developers regarding a 9 month FTC starting January 2025. Fixed Term Contract January - September £55,000 - £70,000 FTC You will be responsible for designing, coding, and implementing customized solutions for the Mobile Android mobile app. Your expertise will contribute to the success of our organization by enhancing our mobile app, particularly focusing on new features and custom functionality. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams, including business stakeholders, administrators, and other developers, to deliver high-quality solutions that meet business requirements. Responsibilities: Design, develop, and maintain Android applications using Kotlin and Jetpack Compose. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features. Ensure the performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications. Identify and correct bottlenecks and fix bugs. Continuously discover, evaluate, and implement new technologies to maximize development efficiency. Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code. Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members. Mentor junior developers and contribute to team knowledge sharing. Experience: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent work experience). Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience developing for Android. Proficiency in Kotlin and Jetpack Compose. Strong understanding of Android SDK, different versions of Android, and how to deal with different screen sizes. Experience with RESTful APIs to connect Android applications to Back End services. Proficiency in writing and maintaining unit tests to ensure code quality and reliability. Strong understanding of Android architecture components (eg, MVVM, MVP) and their implementation in scalable applications. Familiarity with cloud message APIs and push notifications. Knowledge of the open-source Android ecosystem and the libraries available for common tasks. Experience with offline storage, threading, and performance tuning. Understanding of Google's Android design principles and interface guidelines. Proficient understanding of code versioning tools, such as Git. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently. Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
