Job Description - Corporate Partnerships Manager Based at: Royal Armouries Museum, Leeds. Occasional travel to the Tower of London and Fort Nelson, Portsmouth may be required. Hours: Full time – 36 hours - 5 days out of 7. Some weekend, Bank Holiday and evening working will be required. Salary: £38,588 £1,500 market rate allowance Contract: 14 month contract, with possibility of extension Job Purpose Summary The Royal Armouries is Britain’s national museum of arms and armour and our collection of over 75,000 objects tells the stories of the impact of warfare, weapons and armour on the geopolitical history of the world. Operating across three sites, the Tower of London, our purpose-built museum in Leeds and Fort Nelson near Portsmouth, we welcome 2 million visitors each year and deliver a vibrant programme of exhibitions, events and workshops to bring our rich cultural history to life in ways that are engaging, inclusive and open to everyone. We are looking for a dynamic, confident and results-driven individual to build strategic relationships to drive income and raise the museum’s profile within the business communities around our three sites. As Corporate Partnerships Manager, your role will be to research, cultivate, steward and manage a portfolio and pipeline of corporate supporters to meet unrestricted and project income targets. This is a pivotal role in the Development department, and it will enable your experience, creativity and talent to attract and retain corporate partners, sponsors and members to support the Royal Armouries’ important work. This role will appeal to those who have: Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills in a B2B or fundraising environment, who thrives meeting new people and forming new connections Proven track record of delivering income growth in corporate fundraising, business development or sales Experience of negotiating bespoke partnership deals and benefits packages Excellent organisational skills, as well as a flair for juggling a busy workload Key Responsibilities Proactively manage and grow a portfolio of corporate supporters, ensuring each has a bespoke engagement plan Produce and deliver persuasive support presentations and proposals Draft partnership contracts and deliver corporate supporter benefits Cultivate new business prospects and steward relationships with current and regular corporate supporters Build and manage a pipeline of corporate supporters, and identify opportunities to convert prospect and uplift current supporters Develop and deliver a programme of engagement and cultivation events for corporate supporters in line with the Royal Armouries’ strategic aims Represent the Royal Armouries at external events and to a range of stakeholders Develop and manage materials relating to corporate support, including generation of print, website and email Keep abreast of sector trends, changes in legislation and new sponsorship opportunities Cultivate internal relationships that cross team boundaries and seek to collaborate to achieve the Royal Armouries’ strategic aims Liaise closely with commercial colleagues across Royal Armouries and RA Venues to ensure that all Royal Armouries has to offer is highlighted to partner prospects and new business is introduced to the organisation in the most appropriate way (whether via sponsorship, licensing or as a corporate client) Actively support the work of the Development team and deliver specific objectives as identified by the Senior Development Manager Manage and monitor data associated with research and subsequent transactions according to best practice and maintaining the department’s CRM database Budgets and Resources Manage designated budgets ensuring value for money Ensure that all income is managed as tax effectively as possible Personal Responsibilities Develop internal relationships, including with senior management, that cross team boundaries and build support for the fundraising strategy and the wider work of the Development team inhouse Work flexibly to meet the needs of the team Work as part of a team and support colleagues Protect the reputation of the museum Act as an ambassador for the Royal Armouries Policies & Procedure Comply with H&S legislation Adhere to organisational policies and procedures to protect people and the museum’s reputation Reporting Structure This post reports to the Senior Development Manager. The Corporate Partnerships Manager role could be made available via a hybrid model, with a minimum of 2 days a week on-site at the Royal Armouries Museum in Leeds and an understanding that the candidate will be expected to attend regular networking opportunities in Leeds, and other RA sites.
