About the role
We are seeking a dynamic and passionate Communications and Engagement Officer to join our Public Health team. The successful candidate will hold a strategic overview of the communications and engagement activities of the Public Health team and partner organisations, and will develop, deliver and evaluate impactful public health campaigns and targeted communication projects to support the stop smoking team as well as supporting a range of other public health initiatives and priorities.
The role will play a key part in developing networks and relationships with wider council teams, local NHS services, Voluntary Care Services (VCS), Health Ambassadors, Health Champions, and many partner organisations, to support partnership working, and maximise opportunities for the benefit of Barnet’s Public Health programmes. The role will include some attendance at community-based events, as well as occasional planning and delivery of engagement projects including consultations and focus groups.
About you
* Relevant qualification, or on-the-job experience supplemented with relevant training
* Experience of delivering evidence-based communications projects and campaigns to a range of audiences
* Experience of producing engaging written and visual content for different communication channels including print and digital
* Experience of working with a range of people at all levels and a good understanding of how to engage with different audiences and meet differing needs.
