Ganymede Solutions are working with one of the largest UK Train Operating Companies who are seeking to recruit a Train Cleaner to join the cleaning team at the King Street Blackburn Maintenance Depot.
The company covers the whole of the North, which includes the Northeast & West of England, Yorkshire and the Humber, as well as parts of the East Midlands and Staffordshire. They have a large fleet of trains, so you will be active & busy in your role!
Ganymede are looking to hire someone with a ‘go getter’ attitude who isn’t afraid to get stuck in and can lead a team by example.
The Role:
As a Train Cleaner, you will be carrying out all aspects of interior and exterior cleaning, including:
1. Hoovering/dusting/sweeping
2. Mopping
3. Sanitizing touch points
4. Cleaning/restocking toilets
5. Cleaning graffiti
6. Changing bins
7. Picking up litter
You will be working within a team of 4 Train Cleaners and 1 Team Leader, carrying out full and deep cleans on the Northern Rail fleet. This role requires good attention to detail, and on average you will be cleaning 7 trains per shift.
You will be working on a 4 on 4 off/5 on 4 off shift pattern, with working hours being 20:00 – 05:00am.

Pay Rate & Benefits:
The pay rate for the position will be at £13.05 per hour on an initial 6-month basis. Candidates who excel during the contract period will be considered for subsequent permanent positions, providing a chance to join a great company in a secure industry.
Requirements:
1. Be able to pass a Drugs & Alcohol test
2. Be able to pass a full railway medical
3. Be able to attend a week of training in either Newton Heath Depot (Manchester) or Allerton Depot (Liverpool)
4. Provide your Right to Work documents before deployment
5. Must have team leading experience (not necessarily rail based)
6. Happy to help mentality/attitude
7. A decent fitness level is needed as the site is large and will involve a lot of walking
