The Council is seeking a Senior Contracts Manager who can lead on contract negotiations and management for major works projects and programs of work within the Corporate Landlord function, ensuring compliance and driving supplier performance to achieve strategic goals.
Duties of the Role
As an essential member of the Estates Service, you will:
Oversee major works contracts and programs of work, including on-site monitoring to ensure compliance and high-quality service delivery.
Manage financial payments related to contracts, ensuring accuracy and adherence to terms.
Identify and resolve supplier performance issues, maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders.
Lead contract governance processes, ensuring alignment with corporate procurement policies.
Collaborate with the Procurement team to streamline and enhance tendering processes.
Act as a strategic advisor on contract management, providing insights to inform future service planning.
Direct and support a team of property professionals, fostering high performance and development.
Qualifications and Skills Required
To be successful in this role, you will:
Hold a degree or equivalent qualification, with significant experience in leading tender processes for works and consultancy.
Have extensive experience in contract management and monitoring performance indicators.
Demonstrate expertise in procurement, negotiation, and advising senior leaders.
Possess in-depth knowledge of construction works and services contracts, including governance and assurance.
Be skilled in managing complex commercial contracts and navigating local government environments.
Experience with financial controls, budgetary procedures, and political governance within Local Authorities would be advantageous.
