We are looking for a Full Time Warehouse Shift Manager to join our team in Thornbury.
As a Warehouse Shift Manager, you will be responsible for the successful delivery of the day-to-day warehouse operations at the site, ensuring the operation is running smoothly, and supporting the Warehouse Operation Managers with various tasks that add value to the operation. You will also ensure all productivity, accuracy, and cost targets are met and exceeded, as well as manage and coordinate warehouse operations at the distribution center.

Warehouse Shift Manager role details:
Salary: £38,000 + £3,000 Unsocial Hours Shift Allowance per annum
Hours: 38 hours per week
Working pattern: Backs - 14:00 to 00:00
Location: Thornbury, BS35 3UT
What you’ll do:
* Own the recruitment and induction process within the warehouse department for new colleagues
* Conduct daily administrative tasks related to payroll systems, payroll queries, holidays, etc.
* Drive shift performance through the team leaders to achieve KPIs
* Forward planning of operation and delivery of plan in line with live volumes and resources
* Ensure all requirements relating to safety, health, environment, and quality are fully implemented in the warehouse or escalate
* Maintain a safe and friendly working environment for all employees, agency, and subcontractors
* Manage direct reports in various areas, including but not limited to:
* Wellbeing meetings, long-term sick management, return to work, and disciplinaries
* Shift briefings when required
* Collaborate with 3rd party agencies to ensure appropriate resourcing of operation
* Day-to-day reviews of plans and system maintenance in line with live volumes
* Ensure training and development needs are identified and reviewed frequently
* Plan and organize operational, people, and safety meetings
* Accident investigations and reporting
* Conduct hazard walks and observations
* Maintain and improve performance levels to maximize efficiency of operation in line with account KPIs
Who you are:
* Thorough knowledge and hands-on experience of a warehouse function within the FMCG Distribution Industry
* A background operating at a management level is a must
* A passion for encouraging teamwork, focusing on creating an innovative culture where all employees can voice their suggestions and ideas
* Excellent team management skills for developing Team Leaders
* An analytical mindset
* Flexibility to cover a variety of shift patterns in the future
* Experience with Trade Unions (previous experience would be beneficial)
