FINANCE ASSISTANT
Location: LONDON - TOP FX FIRM WITH A GLOBAL REACH
Type: HYBRID
Salary: £35,000 - £40,000 DOE
Our client, a global foreign exchange provider, is seeking a Finance Assistant to join their team in its centrally located London office, which features a state-of-the-art on-site gym.
The Finance Assistant will work closely with the management accountants to learn all aspects of financial management across assigned entities. Under supervision and guidance, complete the following tasks, taking on responsibility for smaller entities where appropriate.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting and Control
* Assist in preparing monthly management accounts
* Ensure management accounts are compliant with country/regional regulations
* Support the Finance team in agreeing inter-company reconciliations
* Attend month-end meetings to discuss issues with monthly management accounts or reconciliations and work with the team to resolve queries
* Assist with prepayments and loans
* Prepare local payroll and final payments
* Prepare monthly reports for local teams and ad hoc reports as required
* Assist in preparing year-end statutory accounts
* Prepare information for internal and external audits
Tax and Compliance
* Assist in preparing tax returns
* Complete reconciliation of tax information
* Ensure tax is processed in line with regional requirements
* Keep manuals and procedures up to date with any changes in regional requirements or regulations
* Ensure controls are in place and followed to reduce errors
Strategic Planning and Financial Planning & Analysis
* Maintain controls to minimize risks
* Prepare variance analysis of financial reports as requested
* Assist in budgeting and forecasting
* Prepare any information required to support forecasting and budgets
What We Are Looking For:
* Wide financial crime exposure to global AML and FC
* Experience dealing with high-risk accounts
* Previous experience in a similar regulated industry
* Experience managing complex AML/FC projects
* Demonstrated experience managing AML/FC issues across jurisdictions and multiple legal entities
* Professional acumen, integrity, discretion, credibility, resilience, and trustworthiness
* Able to support the team with integrity and create a positive work environment
* Self-motivated with excellent communication skills
* Good organizational skills and ability to multi-task
* Exceptional attention to detail
* Able to work on own initiative
* Ability to build positive and respectful relationships across the organization
