Are you an experienced Registered Manager within the childrens service looking for work in Cheshire?
Winner Education are seeking a registered manager to work within the childrens service to work with a school who provide independent special educational needs placements. This role is a full-time temp to perm position to start as soon as possible. The ideal candidate must have previous experience within SEN support, and you must enjoy working with children you support and strive to ensure each child can achieve their true potential.

Salary: £48,000 - £50,000 (depending on experience)

Main Purpose of Job:
* To be registered with Ofsted and as such, be legally responsible and accountable for the effective and safe running of the service.
* The registered manager is accountable for delivering high-quality care to the children and young people who reside within the childrens service. They are responsible for the delivery of all care services, as well as strategic planning within the home and the day to day management of the service.
* The registered manager will demonstrate the ability to maintain and expand on the well-established principles and practice standards which exist within the iMap organisation and the service whilst proactively contributing to the continuous improvement of childcare services. The registered manager must work in unison with the positive behaviour support team to ensure that all practices are current, relevant and evidence-based.
* In order to achieve the best outcomes for all children and young people who use the service the registered manager will ensure that the home is managed effectively and efficiently and is maintained in a warm, caring and homely manner. This involves being personally available, performance of staff supervisions, mentorship, conflict resolution, organisation of work patterns, facilitation of care-focussed training and the accessing of appropriate services.
* At all times the registered manager must act as an effective practice leader by monitoring the quality and professionalism of the team. They must offer guidance and mentorship in those circumstances where practice does not meet required standards and provide positive feedback and support, so that excellent practice may be maintained.
* The registered manager must understand the principles of values-based leadership and ensure that at all times staff members are upholding key principles of understand, empower and aspire. They must be able to demonstrate values-based leadership in practice ensuring that all staff function as a cohesive team. This is essential for the effective implementation of our positive behaviour support framework and the propagation of a positive healthy culture.
* view the role of registered manager as vital in the lives of the children and young people who use the service and it therefore requires an active and long term commitment. The registered manager will be mentored, helped and supported directly by board of directors, while remaining accountable for the smooth running of the service. The board of directors, therapy team and supporting administrative staff from head office will work closely with the registered manager, assisting them to provide high quality care throughout the service.
* The registered manager is employed for thirty seven and a half hours per week, however they will be expected to arrange their own work rota and this may involve some evening, weekend or waking night duties. The registered manager is wholly responsible for ensuring an appropriate staff presence in order to meet the childcare needs of the children and young people within the service.
Specific Responsibilities :
* To be responsible for all staff working to enrich the lives of the children and young people in our care by understanding their specific needs, empowering them with new skills and helping them to aspire towards their goals and dreams.
* Ensure the service is compliant with all relevant statutory regulations.
o Work in conjunction with safeguarding panel to ensure that any matters relating to child protection and safeguarding are managed in line with current legislation, national standards and safeguarding best practice.
o Co-ordinate and access the relevant appropriate services (such as health, education or therapy) to ensure that the needs of each child and young person who uses services is met.
o Work effectively as part of a multi-agency planning team to meet children and young people need and maintain contact with a wide range of outside professionals, such as general practitioners, dentists therapists etc. The registered manager will be expected to assist as part of the assessment and complex case team.
+ Promote the theory and practice of social role valorisation and support the rest of the staff team to follow its core principles, to ensure that where possible the users of the service have a valid social role within their community.
+ Have accountability for the timely and legible authorship, coordination, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of individual care plans, risk assessments and positive and proactive support plans.
+ Act as a mentor to support the senior support worker in provision of best possible childcare and behavioural practices.
+ Implement and maintain iMap's underpinning philosophies and practice framework, ensuring that care standards are never compromised, as well as ensuring that all of policies and procedures are implemented appropriately.
+ In conjunction with the director of quality and operations, be accountable for the implementation and effective monitoring of comprehensive and integrated quality assurance systems, including taking responsibility for all duties associated with regulatory compliance. This includes participation in the annual inspection process and ensuring that best practice is maintained by conducting regular quality assurance inspections.
+ Sustain and develop the service's administration and recording systems alongside any maintenance repair work, so that a warm and caring home environment is maintained.
+ To manage referrals, assessments and admissions, being mindful of compatibility and support requirements, and ensuring full occupancy of the home.
+ It is the responsibility of the registered manager will effectively manage the homes budget, ensuring full financial compliance with regular monthly reporting to iMap's board of directors.
+ Maintain effective team management which must meet with (as a minimum) Children's Homes Regulations and National Minimum Standards.
+ Organise appropriate supervision and support of the staff group ensuring that the team are developed appropriately to meet the specific needs of children and young people who use the services. With the support of the senior support worker the registered manager will ensure that staff supervision continues to support both childcare delivery and staff development
+ With the support of the senior support worker and lead behaviour therapist, the registered manager will develop individual staff training programmes in line with organisational plans and needs including supervising and providing observations for staff through their RQF III Health and Social Care - Children and Young People.
+ The registered manager will complete probationary and annual performance appraisals for all staff to ensure that they are able to continue to provide appropriate levels of childcare.
+ Be responsible and accountable for ensuring iMap's health & safety policies are maintained and adhered to within service and ensure that all staff are aware of the organisations health & safety procedures. This will include but not be limited to; undertaking risk assessments where appropriate, ensuring that all significant events are recorded and reported according to procedures and the completion and recording of fire drills and tests in accordance with procedure.
+ Arrange, complete and record appropriate levels of post significant event debrief either as a team or on an individualised basis when triggered during the significant event reporting process or when requested by an individual staff member.
+ Work as part of the team rota directly supporting children and young people as and when required.
+ Participate in out of hours on-call management service
+ The registered manager may also be required to undertake any other duties that may be required.
Conditions of Service :
* This post is subject to a six month probationary period.
