PTS Senior Site Engineer/Sub Agent (Rail Environment)
Location: Long Ashton, Bristol
Contract Length: 3 months
Working Hours: Start Time - 7:30 am (9.5 hours per day)
Key Responsibilities:
1. Site Management:
o Assist the Site Manager in day-to-day running of the rail project site.
o Supervise and manage subcontractors and direct workforce to ensure work is carried out safely, on time, and to the required standards.
o Monitor progress and quality of work against the project timeline, addressing any issues that may affect delivery.
o Liaise with the client, stakeholders, and subcontractors to ensure effective communication and resolution of project challenges.
2. Health & Safety:
o Oversee safety and compliance with health and safety regulations.
o Ensure all team members adhere to PTS (Personal Track Safety) requirements and other relevant safety procedures.
o Regularly conduct site inspections to identify risks and implement corrective actions.
3. Technical Support:
o Provide technical advice and support to site teams for all engineering aspects.
o Ensure that work is carried out in accordance with engineering drawings, specifications, and contract requirements.
o Prepare and review method statements, risk assessments, and construction programs.
4. Project Coordination:
o Monitor and control the budget, ensuring cost-effective measures are implemented.
o Ensure all materials, plant, and equipment are procured in a timely manner and are in good condition.
o Assist in the preparation of project reports, progress updates, and documentation.
Essential Qualifications and Experience:
1. PTS (Personal Track Safety): Valid PTS certification is required, including trackside safety knowledge.
2. SSSTS (Site Supervisor Safety Training Scheme) or SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme): Must have a valid SSSTS or SMSTS qualification.
3. Rail Industry Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience working in a rail environment, ideally in a Senior Site Engineer or Sub Agent role.
4. Knowledge of Railway Operations: A strong understanding of railway infrastructure, signalling systems, and track construction techniques.
5. Technical Competence: Proficient in the use of engineering software and tools, and a strong understanding of construction processes and techniques.
