SNAP currently has a vacancy for a Head of Commercial Finance. This is a Fixed Term Contract for 9 months.
The Head of Commercial Finance role requires a proven leader with strong financial acumen to partner with business units and provide strategic financial insights. Key requirements include expertise in budgeting, forecasting, analysis (including balance sheet, working capital, and overhead management), and the ability to influence and drive results.
The role:
* Main financial point of contact for all financial forecasting, reporting, P&L, and Balance sheet management.
* Provision of financial planning & analysis (FP&A), forecasting, and reporting. This includes budget setting, 3 Year plans, cash flow, and working capital projections.
* Partner with business unit leaders to develop a deep understanding of their operations, financial drivers, & strategic goals. Balance sheet analysis to identify, control, and manage financial risks and opportunities.
* Work across financial matrix to establish best practice and ensure controls are in place.
* Manage internal audit requirements and develop risk register.
* Develop and implement working capital forecasting models to optimize cash flow.
* Perform comprehensive overhead analysis to identify areas for cost reduction and efficiency improvements.
* Provide clear and concise financial analysis and reporting to senior management, ensuring accurate financial data and timely insights.
* Identify and mitigate financial risks, proposing effective strategies to safeguard the organization's financial health.
* Partner with cross-functional teams across the organization to support strategic initiatives and decision-making.
* Develop and implement financial processes and controls to ensure adherence to accounting standards and best practices.
* Foster a culture of strong financial accountability within the organization.
* Stay abreast of industry trends and best practices in commercial finance.
* Provide robust and appropriate challenge to the businesses to ensure area hits its budget, 3 year plan, and investment proposals.
* Work closely with the sales and commercial teams to drive commercial performance, focusing closely on implementing KPIs as appropriate.
* Work with the finance teams to challenge and/or champion “risk vs reward” decisions in granting credit limits and payment terms.
* Delivery of all reporting requirements to agreed deadlines “on time, in full.”
* Working with Finance Controller to ensure working capital levels are optimized and delivered in line with forecasts and budgets.
* Work with commercial & procurement teams to ensure best value supply agreements are implemented and maintained across each of the businesses.
* Work with Heads of/Managing Directors to ensure the wider sales and ops teams have full visibility and understanding of their respective P&L’s and are held accountable for the delivery of targets within them.
* Support to M&A and capital investment business cases.
What we are looking for:
* Proven track record of success in financial planning & analysis, forecasting, and reporting.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Excellent communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills.
* Ability to influence and collaborate effectively at all levels of the organization.
* Proficient in financial modeling and data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, financial modeling software).
* CIMA or ACA qualified.
* Minimum 5 years post qualification experience.
* Strong understanding of contract accounting (WIP/Deferred income/Accrued income etc).
* Analytical skills.
* 360-degree relationship building.
* Persuasive and influential across the business.

* Technical accounting.
