Job Advertisement: Psychology Graduate Teaching Assistant Teaching Personnel is seeking an enthusiastic Psychology Graduate to take on the role of Teaching Assistant at an Ofsted-rated "Good" secondary school in Wilmslow. This full-time position starts in January and continues until the end of the academic year, with the possibility of becoming a permanent role based on performance. About the Role: This role is ideal for a recent Psychology graduate looking to gain hands-on experience in an educational setting, particularly if you are considering a future career in education, mental health, or child development. As a Psychology Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with students who require additional support to overcome barriers to learning, helping them to succeed academically and personally. Key Responsibilities: Provide tailored support to students, either one-on-one or in small groups, focusing on their specific needs. Apply your knowledge of psychology to assist students with behavioral, social, and emotional challenges. Collaborate with teachers and SEN staff to implement strategies that promote positive learning outcomes. Foster a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment for students, encouraging their confidence and independence. Assist with adapting lesson plans and materials to meet individual learning requirements. Monitor student progress and contribute to reports for teaching staff and parents/carers. Support students during unstructured times, such as break and lunch, helping to build their social skills. What We’re Looking For: The ideal candidate will: Hold a degree in Psychology or a related field. Be proactive, adaptable, and able to work effectively as part of a team. Be available full-time from January through to the end of the academic year.
