2020 Recruitment are working with our engineering client who are looking for a Shipping Co-Ordinator to join their team based in Inverurie.
Initially this will be a 24-month contract with a view to extending at the end of this period.
This role is ideal for someone with experience of international logistics to join a global client within the oil & gas industry.
The Role
As Shipping Co-Ordinator you will ensure relevant documentation has been prepared and recorded allowing products to be delivered without interruption leading to Client satisfaction by efficient and economical movement of products.
Duties & Responsibilities
1. Ensure movement of goods, imports & exports is in compliance with HMRC policy.
2. Organise the shipment of import and export orders: obtaining quotes from freight agents, preparing all relevant documentation, liaising with other departments to obtain information as required.
3. Adhere to shipping compliance procedures & Incoterms regulations.
4. Complete accurate documentation such as commercial invoices and dangerous goods notes and shipping orders in line with regulations according to the country of destination.
5. Plan and co-ordinate transportation of items and manage the timely flow of customer orders with a focus on accuracy, efficiency and time management.
6. Prepare customer invoices for export orders.
7. Assist in preparation of audits/inspections both internal company and by external bodies.
8. Liaising with Sales Department and Warehouse personnel for special order requirements and shipping information.
9. Complete month end reports for accounts department.
10. Maintenance of HMRC records, both imports and exports, updating OA filing system / archiving etc.
11. Address order flow or shipping delays and quality control issues, such as damaged or improperly packed goods.
12. Complete daily shipping and receiving logs.
13. Document and escalate any customer service issues and/or shipping/receiving errors.
Requirements
1. HND in a relevant business qualification or equivalent.
2. Solid knowledge of logistics import & export procedures including customs procedures.
3. Experience within a similar position.
4. ERP knowledge, essential (sage & Epicore desirable).
5. Strong IT skills.
Package
1. Pay rate of up to £16.60 PAYE.
2. Minimum of a 24 month contract.
3. Overtime.
