Position: Sister - Gynaecology Outpatients
Location: London: The Portland Hospital, Great Portland St, London W1W 5AH
Hours: This role is full time 37.5 hours per week
Shifts: Monday-Friday (8:30 AM - 4:30 PM)
Contract: Permanent

Main Duties of the Job
The Sister will assist the Womens Services Outpatient Matron to support the implementation of new initiatives within the Womens Health Service and to represent the service in her absence.
You will lead the clinical and operational management of the Out-Patient Department, and be visionary and dynamic in driving the team forward in a rapidly changing environment.

Job Responsibilities
1. Act as an expert practitioner and role model, assisting colleagues to develop advanced knowledge and skills within the outpatient setting.
2. Demonstrate clinical credibility and advanced nursing practice within the gynaecology scope of practice.
3. Work with junior staff / health care assistants / students and delegate and supervise care in a fair and equitable manner.
4. Be responsible for the day-to-day shift coordination of the department, providing nursing leadership, guidance, expert clinical advice, and managerial skills.
5. Recognize the signs and symptoms of a deteriorating patient and initiate early interventions in a calm and coordinated manner. Take the lead in emergency situations and carry out evaluation of care post-emergency care situations.
