Heather Ward is a female acute psychiatric ward, caring for those from the age of 18 to 65, who are experiencing acute mental health crisis.

You will need to be resilient, compassionate and dedicated to providing holistic care. Patient focused and driven to helping encourage recovery of our patients.
Main duties of the job
To provide generic care and planned interventions to the patients/clients within the Adult Mental Health Acute Care Service.
Provide care to patients to maintain their personal hygiene, physical health and psychological comfort ensuring that their privacy and dignity is always maintained.
Under the supervision of registered health care professionals assist the healthcare team with the provision of clinical care for a defined group of patients
Ensure patient safety is maintained and patient experience is positive by treating all patients, relatives and colleagues with respect, dignity, and courtesy in accordance with Trust values.
Takes leadership from Assistant Practitioner within a delegation framework for agreed tasks.

Qualifications
Essential
1. NVQ1 training or equivalent experience.
2. Willing and able to undertake all Trust mandatory training requirements.
Desirable
3. NVQ 2 or above in care or modules relevant to the area.
4. Willingness to undergo job development and training, undertaking minimum skill including English and Maths
Experience
Essential
5. Working in a caring environment (professionally or at home), which includes Mental Health
6. Effective patient/client care skills, which includes effective communication.
Desirable
7. Able to evidence working in a caring environment or worked in a voluntary position.
8. Experience of dealing with the public.
